Toroidal Mounting Hardware

Center bolts, washers, cups, and mounting kits for securing toroidal transformers and inductors.

01 · Overview

Toroid Transformer Mounting Hardware

Bridgeport Magnetics supplies mounting kits for toroidal transformers and inductors, the most common and reliable method for securing them to a chassis. Each kit includes a steel washer and two neoprene rubber washers, allowing fast single-screw mounting that saves labor while providing excellent cushioning, vibration resistance, and electrical insulation. The steel washer features a central depression that centers the transformer and keeps the bolt head recessed. All washers are electro-zinc plated for corrosion protection (not recommended for open outdoor use).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to mount toroidal transformers and inductors?

The most common and reliable method is using a mounting kit consisting of a steel washer and two neoprene rubber washers with a single screw. This provides secure mounting while offering vibration damping, cushioning, and electrical insulation.

Single-screw mounting significantly reduces assembly time and labor costs. The two neoprene washers provide excellent cushioning and vibration resistance, while the steel washer ensures proper centering and keeps the bolt head recessed for a clean finish.

Neoprene rubber washers provide both mechanical cushioning and electrical insulation. They absorb vibration, reduce noise, and help protect the transformer from mechanical stress while maintaining electrical isolation from the chassis.

The central depression helps center the toroidal transformer on the mounting surface and keeps the bolt head from protruding above the washer face. This creates a more stable and professional-looking installation.

No. The electro-zinc plated steel washers provide basic corrosion protection for indoor and controlled environments but are not intended for open outdoor applications where they may be exposed to moisture and weather.

Yes. Bridgeport’s toroid mounting kits are designed for both toroidal transformers and inductors. They work with a wide range of sizes and provide secure, vibration-resistant mounting for various power and electronic applications.
